2. Scope

This privacy policy applies to the Android app “Meditation Gong” (package name: com.alpenfunke.meditationsgong). The app does not require an account and Alpenfunke does not operate an app backend that stores meditation sessions or profiles.

3. Data stored locally

Your selected start, halfway and end sounds, meditation duration and the status of the “Remove ads” purchase are stored locally on your device. These settings are needed to provide the app and are not transmitted to Alpenfunke. You can delete them by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.

4. Advertising with Google AdMob

The free version displays advertising through Google AdMob, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. According to Google, the Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share the following categories of data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:

The exact processing depends on your region, privacy choice, device settings and Google’s ad configuration. Where consent is required, advertising-related access and processing take place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through “Privacy options” in the app. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Further information: Google Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure.

5. Consent management

The app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to determine whether a privacy message is required, to collect your privacy choice and to make privacy options available again. Google may process technical request information and your consent status for this purpose. The legal basis is compliance with applicable consent requirements (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) and, where a choice is voluntary, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

6. In-app purchase through Google Play

You can purchase “Remove ads” as a one-time in-app product. The purchase and payment are processed by Google Play. Alpenfunke does not receive your payment card or bank details. The app queries Google Play for the product price, purchase result and current entitlement so that the paid feature can be activated and restored. Processing is necessary to perform the purchase agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Google is independently responsible for its payment and account processing.

7. International data transfers

Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, Google states that it uses recognised transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. Details are available in Google’s privacy policy.

8. Retention

Local app settings remain on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the app. Data processed by Google is retained according to Google’s policies and the applicable product settings. Alpenfunke does not maintain a separate database of advertising or purchase data.

9. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for non-public entities in Bavaria is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

10. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly request names, email addresses or other profile information from children. Age-related settings and declarations in Google Play and AdMob remain decisive for how advertising is delivered.

11. Changes

We will update this policy when the app, the services used or the legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
